Nearside is a city on the verge of mainstream development, located in Central Pennsylvania next to the Carlton Mountain. Built by a collective community of artists, Nearside is a unique city of locally owned businesses, farmer's markets, and a thriving force of creativity. Solaris Rd. is the most popular section of the city, offering everything from a popular coffee house (a place for local bands, speed dating, karaoke nights, and much more) to a costume shop and a yoga studio to a daycare for Nearside's youngest residents, the city has countless amenities.

Several years ago a university was built and with it, there has been a rapid growth of corporate business and mainstream entertainment but the residents still focus on keeping Nearside's close-knit, small town charm.

*Mod Note: Nearside is a social game, focused on character development and looking for serious writers. You won't find zombies, murders, big-name celebrities, vampires, or people waving around magical wands. The action takes place in 2009 but in Caligland, the kingdom that lies between the realms of Heaven and Hell, Past and Present, Life and Underworld. it is the period known as The Dark Renaissance.

It is a dominion where the preternatural beings rule, vampires and werewolves are elevated to nobility and humans are nothing more than food, labour and entertainement. Of course, there are rebels that try to fight to win back the country from the unholy creatures of the night.

Four times a year, on each continent, a portal opens between our universe and that of Caligland, a unique occasion for magic and science to mix, causing explosive results. While some seek to enter the Kingdom with a deliberate purpose or a task to accomplish, others seem to end up here by pure accident.

With inspiration borrowed from ancient lore and mythology, a royal court based on the 16th century Tudor court, a vampire hierarchy and clans originating in the Vampire: the Masquerade roleplaying universe, a vast variety of supernatural fandoms to choose from and a well-elaborated plot, this game has something to offer to everyone! Set on it's own private island among the Seychelle islands, Ile Blanc, named so for its breathtaking white sand beaches, is rated one of the world's foremost destinations. Guests are treated to the highest quality food, beverages, amenities and customer service. Everything they could possibly want is at their disposal, and if it's not it's brought in by the end of the day.

This game is about the people behind the luxury: the ones cleaning the rooms, and serving the drinks. All characters are staff members of Ile Blanc, ranging from housekeepers, to dive instructors, to waiters, to casino staff and more. The staff have full use of all facilities on their time off and are free to use whatever amenities that are available. Everything included in the guest's stay is also free of charge for the staff, which means everything but liquor, the casinos, and the shopping outlets. Staff members are encouraged to partake in any of the facilities to better their knowledge of what's available for guests.

The Island

Ile Blanc is a small island about 5 miles off the coast of Mahe in the island chain known as Seychelles. The fictional island opened in October of '08 and caters to an exclusive clientele and boasts more amenities than most. Small shuttles are needed to bring guests to various parts of the island and the hotel itself is made up of several buildings and bungalows. The main building as it is so aptly named is located centrally on the south side of the island and is the biggest building by far, holding most of the indoor amenities. The guest rooms/bungalows are located in five different locations around the island and the staff housing is located centrally (it's about a mile walk to the closest shore and the staff share golf carts for easier access).

You open your eyes to darkness. The air smells stale and confined. Lifting a hand, you feel glass, smooth and curved. Instinctively, your heart beats faster. A tentative push and it rises away from you, swinging to the side. Light filters in through windows above. You blink, your eyes adjusting to the shadowed room as you try to remember what happened.

A thin layer of dust covers everything. There are no panes of glass in the windows. The virus. You remember now. They told you stasis was a precaution. Only a few weeks. A month, at best. Let them get the virus under control.

Standing beside your pod, legs shaking from disuse, you feel a sense of apprehension creeping over you. Your heart beats even faster now. A table nearby has a pile of scrolls on it and, with a sense of foreboding, you cross to find the one with your initials on it.

Waking Pandora is an AU, post-apocalyptic Harry Potter RPG based partially on the History Channel series Life after People. Mainly the rights for women and children have altered drastically. The change to female rights is almost immediately noticeable with the change of fashion.
Medical and scientific understanding has improved and the experimentation for artificial limb use and ‘upgrades’ to the physical being are becoming highly fashionable however extremely costly.

Whittlewell is the capital city of the British Empire and is on the cutting edge of the steam revolution. Its advances in air ship travel and compact innovations for steam capability are the envy of the world and have lead to the boon in wealth. However the gap between rich and poor is ever expanding.

New York and London, in the year of 2009. The King and the Queen, Enkil and Akasha are dead since many years ago. Of course, it depends on who you ask! For Marius and the other children of the Millenium, it might seem like the blink of an eye.

The lycans exist side by side with the immortals, under the white flag Marius De Romanus and the lycans’ elder Jack “one-eye” Bevan raised together for so many years ago. Each full moon, the lycans gather in Central Park and Hyde Park for their celebrations. No one, except the lycans themselves knows what it is that happens on these occasions and that’s how it is going to be forever and ever.

Our game takes place in London, and New York. However, don’t let this worry you. Nothing stops you from commuting between the two cities.

We are looking for friendly, creative and openminded players who are interested in having fun and making friends while exploring Anne Rice’s universe and making it our own. We are looking for people who love to write about passionate love, drama, lust, angst, anger, and friendship and want to explore all of this together with us.

Demons let people forget. After all, it's easier to cause trouble when your victims don't fight back. They faded into the background - some of them successfully integrated into society. Plus 28 Days Post DH-HP RPG



On October 31st, 1999, a group of eco-terrorists released a biological weapon at every major airport in the world. The first level of infection was direct inhalation within 100 yards. The infected become sick with flu-like symptoms. 48 hours later, the true nature of the weapon became clear. The infected became violent, infecting others through bites and scratches. 50 hours after the first contagion was released, governments across the globe initiated states of emergency. Sites were designated as shelters with troops and Aurors sent to protect those sites at all costs.

Radio broadcasts gave the locations of the Ministry of Magic and Buckingham Palace as 'safe spots' but they were really processing centers screening out the infected and sending the uninfected via the Floo network to hidden shelters. Those lucky enough to find shelter must now wait it out – the 28 long days for the infected to starve to death or kill each other in their madness. Then they will have the unenviable task of rebuilding society and the world.
